Our trip to Great Glemham

street.jpg (33528 bytes)

On Tuesday we went to Great Glemham to look at how the village has changed over the past 50 years. We went to see Glemham House. Some residents told us that it was used as a school in the Second World War. They showed class AT round the grounds while others showed class JR round the house. Then we swapped round. We found out that part of Glemham house was used for servants bedrooms. We also found out that Glemham house was 150 years old.

After we saw Glemham House we went to the village hall. We got into our project groups and we all went to different places in Great Glemham. Then we went back to the village hall and had our lunch. After lunch we drew the front of Glemham house. Then   we split up into our groups and went to the old school, the church and Street Farm. We found out that in the past some soldiers came and smashed all the decorative things in the church. We also found out that the old post office used to be a shop and a post office.
