Our Visit to the
Ipswich Transport
Museum

Classes JR and AT went to the Ipswich Transport Museum. We went on Tuesday 11th  May. The bus we went on we got a ticket from the past for a cheap amount of money. These tickets come from the man who showed us round.

Looking at some of the buses

We all enjoyed the old bicycle shop. In the old bicycle shop you couldn't just pick up what you wanted.  You had to line up in a queue and wait to be served.
The man in the shop wore goggles, a flat cap and a long brown coat. He added all the money in his head. The till was  an ordinary tin.

A very old tram

We got to see some old fire engines. We sat in an old fire engine. The person who showed us round rang the bell, and it was really loud. The ladder was really low so some men banged their heads on the ladder. The fire engine had no roof so they got wet when it rained. We liked the fire engine because there were lots of different and interesting facts. The steps were very steep.

We saw some trams. One of the trams was not looked after very  well. The tram was used as a green shed. It looked very old. In the front of it the floor  boards  had been taken off so all you could see was some  metal poles. One of the trams looked very new because it had been painted and had been polished. Inside it didn't look very new because there were no seats.
