This carving was found in Smart Wharf. It was demolished in the 1920s.
 
The carvings represented an eagle and a pelican as described in the old Bestiairy books. The people who carved this pelican had not seen a real pelican. That is why this pelican looks like an eagle because they had seen a eagle.
