This is a Tudor cradle.  You can see the brackets where the hood lifted up to help the mother or nanny when putting the baby in the cradle.

We have found out that Tudors use
wool, horse hair and dried grass for cradle bedding.     

Class C L found out the foot bit is worn on this cradle.   We think the mother or nanny has been rocking a baby by the foot bit so it has worn out.
