Schools
In some families a boy would go to school but the girl would stay at home to help with the housework. At school if you were naughty you would have the cane or stand in the corner with a hat on your head (with a D on it) as punishment. While if you were good you would go on to a higher level off of the ground. Some children had to walk for about 5 or 6 miles just to get to school for about 6 HOURS!
