The castle of Framlingham was the crowning place for Mary after she had fled to Framlingham for safety from Lady Jane Grey's followers.  When she went to Framlingham, some people found out and made an army and then joined her.  Some of these people were just common peasants and others were trained knights and archers.

Then a messenger came to her and told her of the change of mind and that they believed she should be queen   because she was the closer relative.  Mary agreed and went to London.

This is a plaque which has just been unveiled in Framlingham Castle.  It signifies when Mary Tudor came to Framlingham to take shelter from Lady Jane Grey.
