Most Tudor ships were used for battle. There were small ships and big ships holding different numbers of sailors. Every ship had a captain and most had a ship's boy. Here is some information about some Tudor ships.

Mary Rose

The Mary Rose was a Tudor warship. It was a sailing ship and it had ninety guns with over 400 men on board.
When it tried to turn, the water swept in through the gunholes and sank it. Out of the 400 sailors, only a few survived.

The Golden Hind

The Golden Hind was a large ship that Francis Drake sailed around the world. It had 50 sailors and 150 sailors. Drake would rely on getting fresh food to store in his ship on his voyage.
