Tudor Christmases were the most special celebration of all. The celebration would have taken place in a large hall. They would have a Lord of Misrule who rode a hobby horse, Mummers who were actors, Jesters who kept everyone happy, Merrymakers who were ordinary people, people who wore heads of strange monsters and costumes as well, Musicians who played Tudor music with pipes, drums, lutes and whistleswho played in a gallery

They would have a big table full of things like peacock pie, boars head, ale and wine. They would have holly all around the room including hanging from the ceiling and they had lots of colours of ribbons. They would eat huge meals. That's why some people would be fat.
