Advanced Level Geography
There are two sections to Advanced Level Geography: Human and Physical. Human geography studies population, tourism, and urban areas. Physical geography is concerned with how the land has been shaped - rovers, glaciers, the sea and natural ecosystems.
Practical work plays an important part in the course, and 20% of the final marks are based on a piece of coursework. This is a modular course with an examination at the end of each year.
Most entrants to the course have a Grade C or better at GCSE Geography, but it is possible to study A Level Geography even if you have not done geography before.
Advanced Level Geography provides a good foundation for many careers, in industry, commerce, local government, the Civil Service, transport, and teaching.
