At GCSE level, Drama is very practical based subject. Hard work and co-operation is an essential part of the course. Drama students not only perform in front of each other and the school, but also watch live theatre out of the school.
An important part of the course is writing about your experiences and learning to reflect on your work.
The exam consists of two parts:
60% Practical work over two yeas: -
Scripted Drama
- Polished improvisation.
- A piece of Drama which you and your group create together.
- Spontaneous improvisation - A piece of Drama that you perform
with no preparation time..
- Theatre-in-education
40% Written paper:-
In this paper two of the following have to be reviewed:
- A play that has been studied
- A performance that has been watched
- A series of practical lessons
