Geography deals with the relationship between people and their environment. Students deal with issues which affect their future and the world's. The main topics covered by the GCSE Geography course are:
The world's natural resources; the effects of the environment on man and man on the environment,; the world's population and living conditions in different parts of the world.
Half the marks are gained in examination, and half from coursework. Field work is an important part of this coursework.
Geography is an essential subject in careers such as town planning , surveying and map-making, and can be useful in a wide range of other jobs.
