Background
At Sir Wilfrid Martineau
School we run two separate curriculum networks. In our Upper
School we have a 25 station Novell network which serves mainly
Humanities, Languages and Information Technology subjects. Our
students use mainly Microsoft Works, Pagemaker Classic and a
range of subject specific software. All students have access to
multimedia computers, a flatbed scanner and a digital camera. Our
internet connection is through Research Machines IfL.
In Lower School we have a 15 station Novell
network which serves mainly Mathematics and Information
Technology. We have an old 10 station Nimbus network in the Maths
area.
Developments
By September 1997 we are planning to
upgrade our Upper School network to include the library. We are
installing 6 new networked computers for general use and to run
RM Success Maker. The English department is taking delivery of a
new 10 station suite of networked computers.
