Romeo and Juliet - Performed by Sir Wilfrid Martineau School Drama Club

Romeo & Juliet
With Year 9 SATS rapidly approaching, we decided to focus on the set text and try to overcome some of the language barriers that students meet when studying Shakespeare.
Using still pictures, we decided the play into its key scenes. We added simple costume and props and the technique of thought tracking to help our students portray the right emotions.
Once on the school network, the pictures were arranged and added to, using speech bubbles and boxes to allow our students to find appropriate quotes and plot outlines for each picture.
The students thoroughly enjoyed seeing themselves on screen and now have a full set of pictures, quotes and plot summaries to help them with their revision.
Drama Festival - Tuesday 2nd April 1996
Following on from last years success with 'Our Day Out', we decided to give students involved with the Drama Club the chance to present a festival of work for public performance.
We had approximately 60 students performing work that ranged from Teenage Angst to Fairy-tale role reversal!!
Many of the students involved have never taken part in this type of show before.
All worked with enthusiasm to provide a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
