St. Teresa's

The group then helped Mrs. Morgan to write a poem about a hedgehog.

They looked at the hedgehog and thought of ways to describe it (similes).

The descriptions were written down as lines of a poem.

We then cut up the lines and rearranged them, to improve the poem.

Hedgehog

Round as a rugby ball
Beautiful as summer
Brown as a tree trunk
Eyes beady as a marble
Prickly as a porcupine
Small as a Nigerian snail
Sharp as a thorn
Furry as a bear
Claws sharp as a pin

Otter

As brown as a chocolate bar
Noisy as a football match
Soft as satin

Otter

Fur soft as a bear
Claws sharp as a pin
Brown as chocolate
Noisy as a monkey
Squeeky as a mouse

By Kavitha

Lynx

Ears pointed as a pin
Eyes dark as night
Tail is short as a mouse

By Myles

Horse

As hungry as Santa on Christmas Eve
As large as a zebra
Hair like grass
As white as a dove
As quiet as Santa delivering the presents
