Before leaving school the children met in the hall for a quick reminder of what they would and would be allowed to do, then it was off to see the Queen !!

The first guest we saw arrive was David Blunkett, minister for Education. He walked across the road and spoke to class 4.

As we waited in the bitter cold we also saw the Lord Mayor arrive. Although class 3 shouted to him, he did not come across - but class 3 did meet him in the council house the week before (see the
Lord mayor Webpage)
Finally, amid a procession of police motorbikes, the Queen arrived in her burgandy Royal Limousine. She waved to all the children as the car drove slowly past, before arriving at entrance of the University.

Shortly after the Queen entered the building then the Duke of Edingburgh arrived seperately before joining the Queen inside.
