As soon as the children arrived at the tennis centre they went to one of the championship courts to watch the beginning of a second round match. They all stood or sat in silence as the serves flew all around. |

After the third game of the first set the children moved across to the Inter School Championship. As winners from a previous year (see the report on the Nottingham Open '99 pages), we entered for fun. Our children were stars in the competition, as they were cheered on by Mr. Magpie (our own mascot) |

James, (cl 2) took part in the basketball challenge with help from Mr. Magpie. Once the competition was over Miss. Wimpenny was chosen to represent Southwold in a teachers versus mascots football match. Thanks to the fantastic skills of Miss. Wimpenny the teachers thrashed the mascots about 15 - 0 !! |
