| My name is Sally Holmes, and I'm Jigsaws Teacher. I've taught in a number of schools, generally in areas of high socio-economic need. I was SENCO at Radford Primary School prior to taking up this Secondment. I also shared the role of Family SENCO and was on the MSG panel for Area C.' | ![]() |

| Jigsaws is a nurture group | |
|
Jigsaws operates as a nurture group, according to Nurture group principles. As the schools in our cluster are small we are unable to operate within one school, and so provide this facility for the group of schools. Nurture groups are not 'sin bins'. We provide support for children showing a range of emotional an/or behavioural difficulties. Group Dynamics are alwats taken into consideration when selecting candidates for the group. To select a large number of 'acting out' children would be damaging to the group dynamics, and moretime would be spent dealing with issues rather than teaching the essential skills outlines on page one. If you would like more information about Nurture groups you can contact us or visit the Nurture group Network site |
