Dear Parents and Carers,

First of all may I say a really big thank you to all you parents who have supported our school by not bringing their cars on to the site. There are one or two ‘stragglers’ but we will be contacting them individually to ask for their support.

Parents’ Evening
It was great to see so many parents at our Parents’ Evenings. The attendance throughout the classes was over 90%. Parents of our Early Years children attended their first meeting and all said how useful it had been. If you have not yet seen your child’s teacher it is really important that you make an appointment to do so.

Dinner Money
Thank you to all our parents who have made really special efforts to send their child’s dinner money on Monday mornings. Mrs Buzza is very pleased to accept dinner money payment by cheque. Please pay to ‘Nottingham City Council’. It is very important that we receive dinner money on Mondays because that is the day when Securicor come to collect the moneys on behalf of the LEA.

Adult Education Centre
I know many of you will be delighted to know that we have resumed our partnership with New College to provide some exciting new courses for adults.

The first of these start on Tuesday, 4th March at 1.15pm until 3.15 pm on Mixed Crafts. The course will be led by a new course leader, Kate Hughes.

If you are interested in coming and joining Kate please either ring to put your name down for the course or sign the sheet outside the office. Come along, have a coffee, a chat and perhaps have a go at something creative!!

The second course follows where our children, particularly in the Early Years, have already started. This is a ten week course on Makaton, the signing language we use in school. I know this will be very popular, so please sign up. This course will start Thursday, 8th May at 1.15pm to 3.15pm.

If you or a group of parents have any wishes for any type of course we can provide, then please do come and see me. I will then speak to New College to see what they can do for us.

Swimming
Next term we change classes for swimming on Thursday mornings. Classes 4 and 2 will be swimming next half-term. If you can spare some time to be an observer please see your child’s teacher.

Inset Day
Please remember the school is closed tomorrow for Inset Day. The staff will be in school reviewing our Maths teaching and data.

Next week is half-term when the school will be closed of course. We re- open on Monday, 24th February.

School Clubs
After half-term I am delighted to inform you that a new school club is to be piloted by Mrs Stone. It is a Dance Club to be run every Tuesday 3.30 – 4.15pm until Easter. Children from years 3, 4 and 5 were eligible to apply to join and those children have been given letters of acceptance. If your child has not received a letter we hope the success of the club will enable it to continue next term with increased numbers or different children.

A big thank you to Mrs Stone, supported by Mrs Langley and Mrs Stretton, for giving up their time to run the club.

Dance Club (Years 3, 4 and 5): Tuesday 25th February 3.30 – 4.15.

After School Club (Years 3, 4 and 6): Wednesday, 26th February 4.00 – 5.15

Study Club (Year 6): Thursday, 27th February 3.30 – 4.30

Finally
A reminder to parents to support us by encouraging children to complete their homework over the half-term break, particularly Year 6 and Year 2 pupils.

Have a great half-term,

Best wishes,

Kay Price
