Dear Parents/Carers,
I am very pleased to inform parents that work on our roof and inside
drains is now completed and the scaffolding at present around the school
will come down at the weekend. Thank you for your support over these
last few weeks and particularly last Thursday and Friday. With a new
roof and free flowing down-pipes we should have a leak-free, flood-free
winter!! (I hope I'm not tempting fate).
Now staff feel they can concentrate on Christmas. As you can guess the
staff have only a limited time to rehearse for our Christmas production
this year - 'Santa's Southwold Stars in your Eyes'!. It is a different
approach to past productions but one I'm sure you will enjoy. Our first
performance will be in two weeks time on Tuesday, 11th December at 2pm.
Two further performances will take place on Wednesday 12th December at
2pm and 6pm. Further details to follow.
School Fund
Over the last couple of years we have received wonderful support from you
for the different causes we contributed to as a school. The last one
being last February when we raised over £700 for Comic Relief.
I have to ask you over the next few weeks and months to support our fund-
raising efforts for us - our school. Our school fund account is at an
all time low and needs a real boost and injection of cash. We would very
much appreciate your support in the following schemes:
a) A sponsored Christmas Readathon being held next Tuesday morning.
Sponsor forms with this letter. Please 'rope-in' family, friends and
work colleagues.
b) Exit collections and ticket money from the Christmas performances.
c) A mini-Christmas sale to be held at 3pm on Wednesday, 19th
December. This will be mostly the biggest cake stall ever!!??, a raffle,
a tombola and the sale of Christmas baubles and paraphernalia.
Volunteers needed - details to follow.
d) Children's carol singing at Players. (a yearly fund-raising event
with St. Peter's Church).
If you have any ideas of how to raise money for our school please do come
and see me.
