Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you all had a good Easter break. It was wonderful to see all the children back yesterday morning looking really smart, obviously rested and ready for a new term!

New teacher for Class 6
A big welcome for Mrs Lynn Coxon who is covering Mrs Deshais’ maternity leave. We wish Jane Deshais and her husband ‘all the best’ for their forth-coming ‘happy event’.

Election Day and Bank Holiday
As always at this time of year we no sooner have started back to school than we have another day off for Bank Holiday. This year we are also closed for the local elections. Please do take note that we are CLOSED this THURSDAY, 1ST MAY for local elections and next MONDAY, 5th MAY for May Day Bank Holiday. We are open as usual on Friday, 2nd May.

Ofsted
From next Tuesday, 6th May, Southwold will undergo an Ofsted Inspection. Four inspectors will be in school until Friday, 9th May collecting evidence to judge our school.

As you can imagine the children, Governors and staff have been working very hard to prepare for the inspection. Would you kindly support us by sending your child to school in uniform, making sure he/she has their PE kit in school and that he/she is on time every day next week. If you have any queries about the inspection please do come in and see me or give me a ring if that is more convenient.

Milk money - KS1 children
Please send £4 if your child requires school milk this term as soon as possible to Mrs Buzza in the school office.

Adult Education
Can I please remind parents and friends that the New College Makaton course begins next Thursday, 8th May at 1.15pm in the staff room. So far ten people have put their name down but there is room for more if you are interested. The list is on the Parents’ Noticeboard outside the staff room.

Yours sincerely,

Kay Price
