Dear Parents/Carers,
Homework
The children have settled back onto work with a very positive, hardworking approach.
Thank you to all our carers for supporting the children with study at home.
Help at home with spelling, times tables and reading makes a real difference
to your childs progress.
Replacement for lost Reading Books
If your child loses their reading book/diary please could you help us to replace
by making a donation of 50 pence to cover the cost of new books.
With your support, we can then continue to provide a well-stocked library for
all our children.
Please contact me if you would like to discuss homework further.
Swimming
Swimming is for Class 4 and Class 2 this half term. Please remind your child
that no jewellery including studs are allowed.
Family photographs
Only Family photographs will be taken tomorrow, Friday 8th November from 9
10am or 1 2pm.
School Inspection
Our new School Inspector, Mr. Woolley, made his first visit to school on Friday,
25th October. He was extremely impressed by the positive atmosphere of the school;
the excellent behaviour; and the keen attitude of our children towards their
work. He will visit again on 13th November to look at the results of last years
tests and our School targets for 2002 2003.
Harvest Festival
We were very pleased to meet so many parents at our Harvest Celebration.
The residents of Churchfield House were delighted to receive your gifts and
sent us a lovely Thank You card. Thank you all for your generosity.
Before School
Duty staff have noticed some children arriving very early for school; some going
to play on the Adventure Playground when parents have sent them directly to
school. We will remind your child to arrive on time but not before 8.45 (when
a teacher goes on duty). We will also remind the children to come directly to
school. Please could you ensure that your child does not go to play on the Adventure
Playground or go to the shops when they should be on the school yard ready to
line up for 8.55 am.
After-School Club
A newly organised After School Club will open for four sessions on Wednesday
13th November at 4pm. The Club will be run by Alayn and Debbi both experienced
Youth Workers.
This new club will be for Class 2, Class 3, and Class 4. The club will be from 4pm to 5.15 pm prompt. Membership of the club will be by registration form and Parental Consent, with agreement of rules and the Clubs behaviour contract, to be signed and returned to Ms Low.
On Friday Class 2, Class 3 and Class 4 will receive information to bring home to discuss with parents/carers.
