Southwold Online has won a major UK Web Award.

On July 11th 2001 Mrs Price, our headteacher, and Mr. Widdowson, the ICT Coordinator
and Webmanager, travelled to the British Libary in London to recieve a special
award.
Earlier in the year the school had created a whole section of website all
about Red Nose Day (see the pages here)
and then entered the Comic Relief Web Nose Day competition.

In May an email was sent to school informing us that the Comic Relief pages had been shortlisted for a prize, and a week later we were told that our pages had actually won the competition. We wanted to let everyone know, but we had to try very hard to keep quiet about it ! |

| A film crew came to the school in June to make a video
about our Red Nose Day work, and Comic Relief came to speak to Mr. Widdowson
and Mrs. Stonier because she arranged all the Red Nose Events. The children were filmed working in school and playing outside. |

At the British library our award was presented to us by TV Personality Kate Thornton. We also recieved a voucher for £500 worth of software, as well as a multimedia computer. We even persuaded Kate to wear OUR cool Red Nose Day Pants !!. |
