Archery Golf

The target (hole) is a white cardboard disc 4in in diameter. It is placed level with the normal hole and at least 1yd in from the edge of the green.

The round is as per golf, either stroke or match play, with the same penalties for out of bounds, etc.

Any arrows are allowed, some archers choosing to shoot different arrows, as clubs are chosen, for different shots.

I have played archery golf matches against 'real' golfers, the archers being given a handicap of so many shots to compensate for the greater accuracy of shooting an arrow as compared to hitting a golf ball.

It is great fun and, unlike Clout Shooting where the distance, angle, wind direction and speed are more constant, requires more versatility from the archer. This is especially true when a short 'lob' is needed to get on the green and a freestyle shooting style is required to hole out.
