GOING DOWN!
| On Saturday, 6th July 2002, two of our
year six pupils, Alexandra and David, abseiled down the
nine storey maternity block of Ipswich Hospital, to raise
funds for Friends of Sprites. Click on the images below
to enlarge them.
"It took about an hour to get all the equipment on and get up there," said Alex. "When it was my turn to step over the edge and lean back, I thought to myself,what am I doing up here? I had to lean back, and let the rope slide gently through my hands, and when the instructor told me to, I slowly put my foot on the wall and walked down. I soon got used to this, and it took about a minute to reach the ground."
