40 Sprites children visit Queen!
On Wednesday 17th July 2002, a variety of children from different schools went to Alexandra Park to see the Queen on her tour. Everyone got a flag to wave when the Queen came past. The Queen came down in a helicopter. There was a juggler who entertained us while we waited for the Queen. Also the Ipswich town mascot, Bluey played around with us as well. Finally the Queen landed and her car was driven past us.We got back to school around 11:30 am. It was a fantastic experience to see the Queen. - Daniel (class six)
The Queen came all the way to Ipswich because it's part of her tour for her Golden Jubilee. We got there at 10 o'clock, and waited half a hour for the Queen to arrive. She arived in a dark green helicopter.A few minutes later she was coming down the road in a lovely posh car, and she waved at us. Then we had a rest and waited for the bus. - Jenna (class six)
