Sir Roger Manwood's School
ADMISSIONS

All candidates for admission must provide evidence of academic potential,
either through the Local Authority test at age 11, or at later ages by a test
administered by the School. In the case of Sixth Form applicants, acceptable
GCSE grades are necessary.
For
candidates at age 11, there are three clear criteria adopted by the School
and these are applied in the order laid out below:
|
|
1. |
children in Local Authority
care |
|
|
2. |
the student has a sibling
on roll at the time of application. |
|
|
3. |
proximity of the student's
permanent residence to the school, |
|
|
|
|

The School offers 120 places at 11+; a number
of these places are reserved for boarding-pupils. If the boarding -places are not
all taken up by 1st September each year, the available places are then offered
to day-pupils. The School will consider applications for places at 12+ and
above, but the pressure for entry is such that places are most readily
available at 11+ and at the beginning of
A-Level courses.
Tuition is free of charge; fees are payable
for boarding only, usually in termly instalments. The Bursar is happy to
consider other arrangements, if requested.
