World Book Day 1998.

	In class 4 we used our Design Technology skills to make puppets of our favourite story charactors.
	We used the schools reference library to find out facts.
	Here are some of the children dressed up as their favourite story charactors.

The whole day was brought to an end with a spectacular balloon race, which was even more popular than our balloon race last year. We were given sponsor forms to take home for our families to buy a balloon for the race. Each balloon cost £1 and there was a prize for the balloon which travelled the furthest distance.
	We sold over 700 balloons and the children set them off at 3:00pm. Sadly, the balloon which was went the furthest this year only went to Yorkshire, about 50 miles away!
We are planning to buy resources for the classroom libraries and reading corners with the money raised with the balloons.
