Christmas Term News 2007

21st December 2007

Dear Parent,

2008

School re-opens on Monday 7 January when Mr. Agnew will be back in full swing.  Mrs. Everington will be teaching Y6 and Mr. Roddy will be teaching Y1.  Mrs. Tipping and Mrs. Higgins will continue to teach the Reception class after Christmas.

Mrs. Eden-Ephgrave’s condition is stable and she is convalescing due to the effects of the radiotherapy.

I would like to say a big thank you to Miss. Prentice for teaching Y1 this half-term.  I would also like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Mrs. Everington and Mr. Roddy for running and leading the school so well during my absence.

INFANT CONCERT COLLECTION

Thank you for the generous contribution of £80 for Vision Aid, (a charity which helps people with cataracts in the developing world) and £80 for school fund collected after last week’s concert.

THANK YOU AND BEST WISHES

We say many thanks to Mrs. Flynn, (lunchtime supervisor)

and Mrs. Newman (Reception ancillary) who are leaving us for pastures new.  We will miss their cheerful smiles, kind natures and conscientiousness. Best wishes to both of them.

CLUBS

Teacher led clubs resume on Monday 14 January.  Mrs. Dove’s and Mrs. Thorpe’s breakfast and after-school clubs resume on 7 January.  The Y1 to Y4 Ryan’s football club starts on Monday 7 January, the basketball clubs run as normal on 8 and 9 January.  Mrs. Child’s dance/drama club resumes on Wednesday 9 January.  (This club runs every Wednesday up to and including 2 April).  However it will not run on 16 January as Mrs. Child’s has a prior engagement.

There is no charge for the dance/drama club up until and including 13 February.  This applies to existing members only. (We have received a grant to finance the club).  New members need to pay £22 for the term.  (Please see me).

FRUITY INFANTS

Infants need to bring some fruit for their mid-morning snacks on the first day back in 2008 as there will be no delivery that day.

Y6 SWIMMING LESSONS

The final two lessons take place on Monday 7 and 14 January.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS

School closes today and re-opens on 7 January.  May I wish you all a happy, holy and safe holiday.  May your troubles in 2008 be as short as your resolutions.

Yours sincerely

Mr. A. C. Agnew.

Headteacher.

WISHING YOU ALL A VERY HOLY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR.
