Mrs. Ephgrave is in our thoughts and prayers. We hope she recovers soon and returns to school as we all miss her cheerful personality.

 

Y2 went to the Florence Nightingale museum in London followed by a trip on the ‘London Eye.’

Y4 went to see, ‘Macbeth’ in Northampton.

 

A Man from Nicaragua gave a presentation to the children on Fair trade.

Y5/6 RESDENTIAL TRIPS
Please remember that the Y5 trip payment of £115 needs to be paid by 20 April and the Y6 trip payment of £210 needs to be paid by 25 May.

‘The whole school saw two visiting theatre shows this term a science one on time and space called. ‘The Starry Messenger’ and one on healthy eating hosted by ‘Captain Carrot.’

The Reception class celebratedChinese New Year in front of the whole school

Y5 and Y6 girls have received specialist football coaching from a former member of the England female squad.

Fr. Dariusz celebrated Mass for the whole school on Ash Wednesday.

Some of the Y6 pupils attended the annual Diocesan schools’ Mass in Dunstable with Mr. Agnew and Mrs. Machell.

A school Mass was celebrated in St. Edward’s Church on
18th  March.

Bishop Peter celebrated Mass for the whole school and visited each class in turn. The celebration was truly beautiful and  reverential.

THANKYOU TO EVERYONE WHO ENTERED THE ROAD SAFETY POSTER COMPETITION. THE WINNERS WERE:

THERE ARE NO TEACHER LED CLUBS FOR THE FIRST TWO WEEKS OF NEXT TERM.

THE NEXT MEETING OF THE PSC IS ON TUESDAY 24 APRIL.

EASTER ACTIVITIES

During the last two days of term the whole school concentrated on Easter activities culminating in a celebration on the Friday.

Y3 has walked around the town centre learning about its
History and geography.

Remember infants to bring fruit to school for playtime on Monday 16 April as no fruit will have been delivered.
Y4 spent a day at Leicester museum learning about the Ancient Egyptians.
SING-IN AT ST. MARY’S SCHOOL

Well done Y2 who sang so sweetly at this much loved event.

A special presentation on recycling was given to the whole school by the County’s recycling team.

The Parents Social Committee donated £2000 to the school which has been used to purchase art/craft resources.

Unlike many schools we did not close during the recent snow fall. Children spent lunchtime and part of the afternoon building snowmen and igloos as well as sledging.

 
Y3 pupils made their First Confession at St. Edward’s Church in March.

Please remember that the girls do not wear trousers in school between Easter and October half-term. However from September girls have the option to wear trousers all through the year.

THE COUNTY’S HEALTH AND SAFETY OFFICER VISITED THE BUILDING SITE [EXTENSION OF THE STAFFROOM AND HEAD’S OFFICE] AND WAS HAPPY WITH THE PROCEDURES IN PLACE.
