CHRISTMAS

I apologise for mentioning Christmas in September, but I would ask you to put the dates in your diaries.

The Nativity Play involves children from reception, years 1, 2 and 3.

The Carol Concert involves years 4, 5 and 6.

The Christmas lunch is cooked by Laura in the kitchen and we ask all of the children to eat that meal on the day.  Special diets can be catered for on request.  If you have any concerns please speak to me.

The Christmas Parties take place during the afternoon of 19th with games and Father Christmas attending.

Christmas Mass, this is to be confirmed, but is usually on the last morning.

 STRANGER DANGER

There have been reports locally of a man trying to entice children into his car.  Please warn your children to be alert to this danger.

DRINKING FOUNTAINS

During the holidays we put two drinking fountains that provide chilled/filtered water in school.  I would ask that you send your child with a sports bottle – the smaller the better as it is difficult to fill larger bottles.  The children can then keep the bottle on their desks or in their bag.  Putting a label on the bottle with their name would be helpful.  As before water is available in all of the classrooms.

NAMING CLOTHES

Next Monday we will go through the children’s clothes to check for names. Please ensure that all your children’s clothes are named.  At the end of last term we threw away two large black bags full of lost property, none of which was named.

PE KIT

Please ensure that all of the children have appropriate clothes for PE, especially years 5 and 6 who sometimes forget what is acceptable.

PIANO

I am disappointed that no one had any bright ideas what we might do with the school piano.  I am happy to give it away so as to make more room in the school hall.

HELPING IN SCHOOL

We are always looking for parents, grandparents etc to help in school.  If you have some free time and would like to help please let me know.

 FOOTBALL AND NETBALL CLUB

On the same theme, it is difficult to run football and netball clubs just using the available teaching staff.  Football, for example, needs at least three groups because of the wide age range.  If you are able to help with either activity please let me know.
