The Solar System

venus.gif

The colour of Venus is red, yellow and orange mixed together.  Venus is also very hot and its surface is covered with loose rock.  Its temperature is 480 degrees celcius.

Venus is surrounded by dense steamy clouds that reflects sunlight.
You can not see Venus through a telescope because the clouds are so thick!

This is one of Venus’ volcanoes.  Venus’ surfaces have been quiet for a few million years.

Venus’ structure is rocky, with a metal core that is rich in Iron.
It is 108 million kilometres away from the sun.

Venus often looks like a very bright star in earth’s sky just before sunrise and just after sunset. Because of this, it is known as the morning or evening star.
