School
Admissions Policy
St.
David's Church in Wales Primary School is a voluntary aided, co-educational
day school and one of its foremost aims is to provide a Christian education
in accordance with the rites, ceremonies and doctrines of the Church
in Wales.
Children
are admitted in September during the academic year of their fifth birthday
(the academic year runs from 1st September to 31st August). The standard
intake number for pupils entering the Reception class in any given September
is 18.
All
applications will be viewed with regard to the criteria listed below
(in order of priority) and favourable consideration will be given to
families who are practising communicants of the Church in Wales.
Parents
who wish their child to attend St. Davids for the first time in
September in the school's Reception class will need to complete an admission
form declaring their intent to take up a place in that class. This also
applies to the parents of those children in criteria categories 1 and
2. If places are available once the forms of intent from parents in
criteria 1 and 2 have been received in the school by a given date, the
criteria 3 and 4 will apply and children in those categories will be
placed on a waiting list in order of applications received. Parents
will be notified as soon as possible of availability of places.
