Reporting To Parents
Parents'
evenings are held on two occasions during the academic year, usually
in November and July, and this is an opportunity to discuss your child/children's
progress with the teacher. An annual written report is presented
to all parents in July.
If a child
is failing to maintain satisfactory academic progress, parents will
be contacted and invited to school to discuss the matter.
If your child
has any problem whatsoever regarding his/her school life, it is advisable
to contact the class teacher immediately, rather than wait for a parents'
evening to discuss the problem. In a child's mind, minnor concerns can
become greatly exaggerated and cause a great deal of distress.
Serious matters
of concern should be referred to the Head teacher without delay.
A regular
half-termly newsletter keeps parents informed of events at school.
Parental
Involvement
Several
parents are involved with various activities at school on a voluntary
basis and teachers find their contribution invaluable. If any parents
have a particular area of expertise, or would simply enjoy helping out
at school, please contact the Head teacher. Your support would be greatly
welcomed.
Parent
Teacher Association
The
school has a very dedicated P.T.A. The Association arranges numerous
fund-raising activities throughout the year and raises a great deal
of money for school funds. The money raised is used to purchase resources
which enrich the curricular provision, thus improving the quality of
education provided at the school.
In
addition, the P.T.A. encourages close links between the staff, parents,
local residents and others associated with the school.
New
parents are always welcome and their support is much appreciated.
