Suzie Churchill

It seems so long ago since I was interviewed for the post of Headteacher here at St Thomas. I have been eagerly awaiting coming to work alongside the staff, parents, Governors , Birmingham Education Authority and the Dioscean Board of Education, in the education of the children in our care.

My time so far has been delightful. The staff and children are a happy band and the parents I have met have shown such warmth and friendliness that I know in my heart we can achieve great things.

Throughout my career I have always worked in Church Schools because I firmly believe that strong Christian foundations can be laid so enabling us to prepare the citizens of the future - OUR CHILDREN. Being a Church School, I see St Thomas as being a stepping stone to the wider community and strengthening links with the Church.

Being an inner city school our curriculum needs to be stimulating and exciting to enhance motivation. To this end we encourage special projects whilst addressing curriculum entitlement and raising standards of achievement. With this in mind I am sure we will take the school successfully in to the 21st Century
