THE CHOIR OF THE YEAR COMPETITION

A couple of weeks before Christmas our school was entered into the Choir of the Year competition. We entered by sending in a tape of three songs that we preferred. Last week news came back that we had gone through to the regional finals to compete against other good choirs. We were all very happy with the news and are all very excited about going to Ballymena Town hall, Co Antrim to be recorded on television on Thursday 15th February. On the day we go to get recorded we will miss seven periods of school including Maths. After the recording is done highlights of it will be shown on T.V at 6.00pm on U.T.V Live.

The whole of the choir stays on after school two evenings a week from now until we get recorded. We are working very hard and are hoping to win because we could receive a prize for the school of £150. After this final there will be a grand final if we get there we could win £500.

Our music teacher Mrs.Mc Kenna is working very hard with us and she deserves a lot of credit. Mrs Mc Kenna gives up her time two evenings a week to help us. Mrs Campbell is helping us as well. She is playing the organ for our songs.
