Winner of the High Jump Paul Tohill

Paul's High Jump success started at Derry's Leisure Centre where he won the Ulster title to qualify for the All Ireland Indoor Championship with a jump of 1.50 metres. The top three in each province qualified for the finals which were held in Nenagh Co Tipperary on Monday 17th March. Paul and eleven other boys competed in the under-14 Highjump. Paul won the gold medal with a new All Ireland record of 1.69 metres. It was 9 cm higher than his personal best of 1.60 metres. He broke the record by only 1 cm. This is Paul's second All Ireland Gold as he won the Under-13 last year breaking the record by 1 cm with a jump of 1.57 metres.
