Correspondence
Copy of letter from Mike Baughan of S.C.C.C. had been distributed with agenda. All points agreed. Future agenda for committee meetings to include a five-minute item on best practice review. All members who had been present at the meeting with SCCC felt that the meeting had been very worthwhile.
Communication from Deirdre regarding conference held for item 8.

Consultation Process
Procedure for responding to documentation would be as stated in the minutes of the meeting of 4 Feb. 2000. AMS to inform agencies of changes to the executive committee. A proforma to be issued to committee members seeking to identify specific areas of competence. Consideration was given to extending the website as a means of communication and information exchange including a monthly bulletin.

Membership fees
Relaunch of AEAS with publicity on the work of the association and benefits to members is to be an item on the agenda of the AGM. Also to be proposed at that time is an increase in the fees to £20.00.
Contact should be maintained with Neil Munro (TES) and his help sought in increasing the profile of the Association.
A proposed seminar day in autumn 2001 would allow networking and the opportunity to work in partnership with agencies such as SCCC and HMI.

Conference 2000
A summary of Deirdre's report was read and copies are to accompany minutes.
Group discussed proposals for conference 2001. Various suggestions were noted:-
Venues- Edinburgh/Holyrood; Moat House Glasgow; Forte Hotel, Erskine; Dunfermline
Dundee-Stakis/Hilton; Bellshill -Stakis/Hilton
If we decide on Stakis /Hilton would we be eligible for a discount?

Dates of Conference 2 and 3 March 2001
Suggested speakers- Ken Macdonald [BBC]
Julie Allan [Social Inclusion]
Change of Format: Reduce time for AGM to 1/2 hour.
Earlier finish on Friday [4.30] to allow for visit to local attraction as in previous years.
More interactive sectoral activity/workshops.
