4 national and local documentation and issues A brief look at some of the things we will have to take account of, eg:
Aberdeen City’s present policy on guidance in secondary schools
Health Education 5-14 (to be published)
Careers Education in Scotland (soon to be published)
Higher Still Guidance documentation
Drugs education and Aberdeen City drugs strategy
attached is Guidance: A Developmental Approach (Grampian Region, 1993) - still current Aberdeen policy on guidance in secondary schools

If you get a chance, you could look at Health Education 5-14 (consultation draft is in schools)

5 identification of issues that future policy/handbook should address It would be most helpful if you could come prepared to suggest issues that our final documentation should address.
6 consultation We need to discuss
how and whom we will consult
when we will do it
how we can involve school students
Please consult the enclosed strategy paper and see what you think of the partial proposals.
7 next steps
do we need to involve other people in this group?
how should we organise the next meeting?
8 dates of meetings We will decide on dates for all future meetings. Please come prepared with possible dates when you can participate.
