Screengrabs of some sources of helpful material

These are sites we find useful in gathering information for projects like this. It is supplemented by material from paper (books, archives etc) We also use the Ordnance Survey CDs & the 1991 National Census material, plus other custom software like Genesis (3D surface mapping- a brilliant resource) or Amflow (custom river work software) These are screengrabs, not active links- but you can see the URL addresses. They'd be proper links on a CD.

There are also lots of other organisations we can tap-
 Wetlands Trust
 Nature Conservancy
Local private or public 'tourist attractions'.
 Library service
 Geographical Association
 Radley College site
 Various Meteorological/satellite sites.
 National Trust.
 Tourist Info. offices.
 Individual's & school's sites.
 Hinkley Point.
 etc.

Somerset County Council have excellent on-line archives.

and other services.

The Parrett Trail has pioneered some on-line content as well as the Trail itself & superb supporting booklets etc.

The Ordnance Survey have rapidly improved their web services.

Two enthusiast's projects which I recommend are the River Ribble project.

and the Lulworth Cove material.

There are excellent relevant materials on sites like World Wildlife Fund.

Have you looked at the 'Permitted emissions' from the factories near you (eg Bridgwater!)?

back to intro?
