In 2001 Burdock and Albert went to Thailand

Bangkok is the capital of Thailand. It is full of wonderful temples and the guards allowed me to be photographed in front of some of the tombs.
Albert and I had to take our shoes off to enter the temples. Many of them had mirrors in them to chase off evil spirits. When we sat in front of a Buddah, we had to point our toes away from the statue as feet are seen to be unclean.
This Buddah was outside a shopping mall in the centre of Bangkok. People brought gifts of food and flowers to the Buddah.
We were a bit frightened sitting here! This was a statue in the Grand Palace. Each of these figures was covered in tiny mosaics. All of them had fierce faces.
These figures were used as guards in the palace. They are tall! My friends had to wear long skirts to cover their legs and shirts with sleeves in to cover their shoulders. This was to show respect to the Buddah.
We were very brave and went on an elephant ride at the Rose Gardens. It was very bumpy and I'm glad my friends kept a tight hold on me!
The elephants were huge but very friendly. I kept away from their trunks just in case they thought I was a banana!
In one of the James Bond films, Bond rode on a fast boat through the Klongs or canals in the area. This is one of them. People use the canals to go to work and live on the side of them in houses on stilts.

Here we are visiting a huge floating market. The people sell everything from boats. As they go pst you can buy from them. They even have small cooking fire on the boats and serve hot food. Some of them sell live chickens! Look at the traditional hats the women are wearing. Why do you think they are wearing them?

We were very afraid that we might get tipped into the water as the boats were very close together.
