       Oak Apple and Oak Leaf

When I went to the nature garden I found an oak leaf, this was unusual because it was still on the tree! The oak apple looks like a chewed piece of apple and its colour is light brown The oak leaf looks really brown and it looks like it has been dead for a long time. It feels rough.

Knap Weed
When we went down to the nature garden in January I foud a Knap Weed. The leaves had fallen off and it was brown. The buds were brown and had no colour at all. A Knap Weed grows to between 20 and 60cm tall. It has rough hairy branches and the flower head is purple. You could find one in your garden. It belongs to the daisy family.

Meadowsweet

In January I found some Meadowsweet in the nature garden. It was a brown plant with bits of grey in it and it was not in bloom. When it is in bloom has tiny, tiny white flowers and bright green leaves. This plant looks old now because it is winter - but in the summer it will be very pretty. Meadowsweet can grow up to be 120cm tall and is a member of the rose family.

                       Brambles

The brambles are mostly found in a wasteground the bramble I found was green with a bit of brown on it and has a very spiky stem. The brambles are mostly found on wasteground. The bramble is green with a bit of brown on it and has a very spiky stem. The stem of a plant carries water  and food to all of the plant. The stem also holds up the leaves and flowers. All plants need light. If a bramble is growing in the shade its stem will grow long so that the leaves can reach the light.

Rushes

When we went down to the nature garden in January, rushes were growing at the side of the pond. Rushes grow in wet, marshy places. Plants like these are pollinated by wind. Their flowers are often small and dull and they do not attract insects.
