This is a horror book. It was mostly set in the house and down in the basement. The main characters are Margaret, Casey and Dr. Brewer; he is their father. The sort of things that happen is that Dr. Brewer is down in the basement all the time and Margaret and Casey become suspicious. He is always working with plants. They thought it was harmless because he is a botanist who has just lost his job, but is it? It was a very good book. But it wasn't all that scary. But it did keep me guessing which one was their real father and which one was the impersonator. It also kept me guessing where Mr. Martinez went. But you will have to read it find out what happens.
