Jennings of Course!
Anthon Buckeridge

This book is about a young boy called Jennings who lives in a boarding school. He faces every day problems like practising for a school concert and in the end gets it totally wrong. I particularly liked the part when Jennings put on a rummage sale for the boys at the school and the village women ended up going. They ended up getting a cook for the school. The characters in this book were very convincing because of the fact that they were all men and had very different feelings about the same thing. The only setting was the boarding school and the shopping centre. The descriptive writing for these were very good, a lot of thought and detail obviously went into this book. The atmosphere I think was very quiet because it was a school. The funniest part was when all the women invaded the jumble sale that was free of charge. I feel that this is an excellent book, it is very exciting for a book about a kid in a boarding school. I really enjoyed it, it was very normal, but I enjoyed it. I would recommend this book to anyone over the age of about 10, because it has some confusing parts to it too.
