The Deputy Head

The Deputy's core role is to lead on Curriculum matters.
Thus there is involvement with every aspect of school life and organisation which enable proper and adequate deputising when the Head is not available.
Quality in the classroom is of prime concern and systems of monitoring this are mandatory.
The Deputy is also responsible for the induction of new staff, appraisal and staff development and ITT.
Pupil management, behaviour, and special educational needs are also included in the portfolio.
