SPORTS DAYS
The dates for school sports days are as follows:
Key Stage 1 (Infants) 17 July 1.30pm
Key Stage 2 (Juniors) 19 July 1.30pm
We are also taking part in the Interschools Sports Day (selected Juniors only) on Tuesday 18th July. This will be held at South Hykeham school and will start at 1.15pm prompt. Supporters most welcome.
SWIMMING GALA
We will be holding a swimming gala again this year on Thursday 13th July starting at 1.30pm. Supporters once again very welcome. This is also the last swimming day for this term.
THE MILLENNIUM DOME
The trip to the Dome took place on Sunday 11th June and a very enjoyable and exhausting day out was had by all. It was well worth the trip and some people would like to make another visit to see more!
INSET DAY
Please remember school will be closed on Thursday 22nd June for staff training.
EGYPTIAN DAY
To link in with our History topic this term on Ancient Eygpt the children will be taking part in an Egyptian day on Friday 23rd June. Hazel King will be coming to take an Egyptian dance workshop and all the children will be involved. To cover the cost of this day we would ask for a voluntary contribution of £1 per child.
LEAVERS' SERVICE
There will be a Leavers' Service on the last day of term 21st July starting at 1.30pm
WHOLE SCHOOL TRIP
We are planning to take the children to the National Fishing Heritage Centre in Grimsby this year for our school trip. As there are so many of us, we have decided to split the Infants and Juniors into two groups and therefore make two trips. The Infants will be going on Wednesday 19th July and the Juniors on Thursday 20th July. More details nearer the time.
HEADLICE
There have been some cases of head lice recently at school, particularly in Class 2. I would be grateful if you could check your child's hair carefully each day. If head lice or eggs are found, it is essential that the whole family is treated. Medication can be obtained from your G.P. or from a pharmacist. Advice leaflets are available from school or from the school nurse, Mrs. Lynne Davis, at North Hykeham Health Centre.
SUMMER FAYRE
As you know, the Summer Fayre this year will take place at school on Saturday 1st July from 2pm-4pm. All the children will be opening the Fayre by singing a selection of songs from around the world. Uncle Ron's Magic Show will then follow at 2.30pm in Class 2.
Children's Competition:
The children's competition this year entails making a sock puppet. All entries should be named on the inside of the sock to ensure unbiased judging. Entry fee of 20p should be given to Mrs. Grace. There will be a prize for the best Infant and Junior sock puppet.
As always we need the following:
· Raffle and tombola prizes
· Crockery for the crockery smash
· Bottles of wine for "win a bottle" stall
· Plants
· Cakes
· Help with setting up/manning stalls/clearing away
Please sign the chart in the school entrance hall if you are able to help in any way. It is better to run a stall with a friend so that you both get a chance to look around.
Attached to this newsletter are 5 books of raffle tickets for each child to sell. Please return all monies to school in sealed envelopes.
