| We are involved in a project with 2 European early years schools. | |
| We made links with Il Quadrifoglio school in Fano, Italy and Ecole Maternelle Assolant, France through the Internet. | |
| Since Autumn 1997 Triangle Nursery School
has been involved in a European Education Project with a nursery school in France and a
nursery school in Italy. The project is funded from Europe under Comenius Action 1. The current theme of the project is Festivities :A Cultural Exchange of Ways of Celebrating. Next year the project theme will be : The Traveling Toys : traveling from my school to your school.
The French children at ŽEcole Maternelle Assolant
sent us a tape of children singing and a newspaper they had made with their work and
photographs in. The children at Triangle Nursery School also focused on learning how to
say hello and say their names in French and Italian. |
|
| This term
our theme for the project will be Personal Celebrations . The children in all
three schools will be sharing news of birthdays, the births of siblings, parties and
family celebrations with each other. One of the ways the children and staff are able to communicate with each other is by using the Internet. Children dictate e-mail letters to staff and then send their messages to the pupils at Il Quadrifoglio and Ecole Maternelle Assolant. They also send scanned images of their work and digital photographs of themselves.
Last November children from Triangle Nursery School were interviewed
about the project with the children in France and Italy for Eurofile a BBC Radio 4
program. The headteacher and deputy headteacher form Triangle Nursery School visited the school in Fano in October 1997 for a preliminary visit to establish the project. In July 1998 the teachers from the French and Italian schools came on a Study Visit to Triangle . During their three day visit here they spent time observing children working at Triangle, finding out about the British educational system and visiting Brixton and Clapham.
It has been a tremendously exciting project for our school which seems to have won the imagination of our whole school community. |
