Children at Triangle Nursery School have access to Personal Computers at all times. Their use of computers and development of ICT skills is carefully monitored by each child's Keyworker so that appropriate work can be planned for and provided.

Each child has an ‘ICT Diary’ which charts their experiences and developing skills throughout their time in the school. Pupils therefore work at different levels according to their skills. Some children are beginning to use a mouse to make choices on the screen whilst others can , for example, save and print their own work and are able to scan pictures and import them into desktop publishing programs. During their time at Triangle Nursery School all children will have opportunities to use logo floor turtles, send e-mail's, search for information on the Internet, use a digital camera and soon, to take part in video conferencing with our partner schools in France and Italy.

We have an ICT suite for use by children and parents. Parents regularly attend ICT Workshops in school where they are able to develop their own computer skills.

Triangle Nursery School often receives visitors who come to observe our 3 and 4 year old pupils using computers. Before having seen the school, some visitors express concern about such young children spending time on developing ICT skills. What they notice is that whilst staff have high expectations for children's achievement in this area and provide a range of experiences, ICT is only one part of the curriculum within a large stimulating and varied environment .
