An Ancient Egyptian Mood Board

Why a Mood Board is Useful

When we use a theme such as Ancient Egypt as the inspiration for our design ideas, it is always useful to gather together as many images and symbols as possible so that we can get ourselves in the mood to design well.

The more images and symbols you can gather together, the better the mood board and the final design should be.

Use books, CD-ROMs, films, the Internet, and so on, as your sources for Ancient Egyptian images. Some of the things you might look out for are shown below.

Particularly important in the design of your box will be the use of border patterns and hieroglyphics:

Whilst you are gathering visual information for your mood board you may want to do some further reading, exercises and practical tasks - or simply play some Ancient Egyptian games.
