Alquerque

This game, played on the game board shown to the left, dates back over three thousand years and is very similar to draughts.

Two players each have 12 pieces which are placed on the board leaving the centre position free. Moves are allowed along any line to a vacant position. Pieces are captured by being jumped over - more than one capture being possible in a move.
