Jane Davis

Teacher Consultant (Primary Team)

Jane began her leaching career in France, working as an English language assistant with children aged 11 - 16 years. As a primary teacher she has experience of teaching across the full primary age range and in schools with differing social and cultural profiles.

lane has held posts of responsibility, for mathematics, for a total of 8 years. During this time she took a leading role in providing both classroom support and whole school inset, instigating many exciting initiatives related to mathematics.

In addition to her work in school, lane has been involved in the development of mathematics at a national level. She was involved in the National Curriculum Council Mathematics Evaluation Project from December, 1991 for 2 years, and more recently, in 1994, was a member of the SCAA Mathematics Advisory Group which had the brief to revise the National Curriculum. Jane was appointed as a teacher consultant with the CSS Primary Team in June 1994 and her work has included providing support both in schools and through courses on a range of issues including mathematics, early years education, and generic primary issues such as classroom organisation and management and curriculum planning. She has also contributed to the work of the assessment team, being a KS1 moderator (1994-1995).
